Services

  • Brief consultation

    • If there is uncertainty about whether you/your child would be a good fit, I am open to a 5-15 minute phone call, free-of-charge. Please send an email to brian@brianbellomd.com with your name, phone number, and a couple windows of time where you are available for me to call you.

  • Initial Evaluation

    • 90 minutes for adults

    • 90-120 minutes for children/adolescents, depending on complexity of case.

  • Medication management

    • Follow-up visits are typically 30 minutes. If someone has been stable for 6+ months and requests shorter appointments to save on cost, I can do 15 minutes.

    • The focus is on assessing current symptom improvement, managing potential side effects, and discussing ongoing plan (including general medical, social situation, lab work, supplements, lifestyle, etc.).

  • Therapy

    • Typically 60 minutes, ideally at least once a week.

    • I’m trained in Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic therapy, but can incorporate skills from certain specialty therapies like ISTDP and PCIT/PC-CARE. Unless a client requests a specific modality, I generally take more of a supportive, coaching approach.

  • “No Surprises” Act / Good Faith Estimate

    • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

    • Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

    • You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
