About Me

Background

I was born and spent the majority of my childhood in Orlando, FL. I was originally going to be an engineer, until I took a Psychology elective in high school. I became fascinated with the brain, human behavior, and, more specifically, the cycle of abuse that victims of early life trauma often go through. I wanted to understand why people who were abused at an early age frequently either went on to abuse others or repeatedly ended up in abusive relationships. Fortunately, through my training and lots of additional reading, I’ve learned the answers to my questions, as well as how to help people with these types of life experiences. I’ve also learned through my experience working in both county and private practice settings that trauma isn’t exclusive to any particular race, gender, sexual identity, or socio-economic status. Therefore, trauma, or painful early life experiences, continues to be my primary area of interest and is the lens through which I view the majority of my patients’ symptoms.

hobbies

In my free time, my interests include playing music, going to concerts, snowboarding, biking, video games, and photography. I believe physical activity and having a creative outlet are important for all people’s mental health.
